Ingredients
- 180g egg whites
- 2 slices white bread (up to 80 calories per slice)
- 5g swerve or splenda
- 1 tsp cinnamon (can add more or less depending on how you enjoy it)
- 5g (1 tsp) vanilla extract
- Sugar free syrup (up to 15 calories per 30ml)
- Cooking spray
Directions
1. In a bowl, add egg whites, sweetener, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Whisk until evenly distributed.
2. Heat a griddle over low-medium heat. Spray griddle with cooking spray.
3. Dip bread slices into egg white mixture, and transfer to pan.
4. Spoon any leftover egg white mixture on to the bread in the pan. If done slowly, the bread should absorb the mixture and get fluffy.
5. Let cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side.
6. Remove French toast from the pan and serve on a plate with sugar free syrup.
TIP: If you want to save time, make as many batches as you’d like and store in the freezer. Use a toaster oven to re-heat.
